This election will go down as a historic event in many ways. The turnout at the polls, the selection of an African-American for president and the manipulation of the news by the mainstream media. Everyone would have to agree that Obama got a pass on any difficult questions from mainstream TV and print. He was shown on US magazine in a positive light and Sara Palin a negative one. Even Bill O’Reilly seemed to take it easy on him, certainly not the same type of interview that he had with Barney Frank.

On Election day twelve Obama voters were interviewed after they voted to learn how the news media impacted their knowledge of what occurred during the campaign. The video below shows how the media controlled the flow of information to the general public and the impact that it had on their voting decision.

This wasn’t a particularly scientific survey so the Zogby people were commissioned to conduct a telephone poll to ask a greater number of Obama supporters the very same questions asked of the people in the video. Oh and one other thing to keep in mind. The people were given multiple choice answers to these questions. Even with multiple choices, here were some of the results.

94% of Obama voters correctly identified Sarah Palin as the candidate with a pregnant teenage daughter.

86% of Obama voters identified Palin as the candidate who spent $150,000 on a campaign wardrobe.

86.9 % of Obama voters though that Palin said that she could see Russia from her “house,” even though the quote actually came from Saturday Night Live.

Now for some news about the candidate they were supporting ….

57.4% of Obama voters could not correctly say which party controls congress.

82.6% of Obama voters could not correctly say that Barack Obama won his first election by getting opponents kicked off the ballot

88.4% of Obama voters could not correctly say that Obama said his policies would likely bankrupt the coal industry and make energy rates skyrocket

56.1% of Obama voters didn’t know that Obama started his political career at the home of Bill Ayers, an unrepentant terrorist.

Why don’t you hear more bad news coming from Iraq from the mainstream media, is that because the news isn’t bad. Could the news never been as bad as they presented it. We all heard stories from servicemen on the ground that what was being shown on televisions in the US wasn’t accurately presenting the story.

Is it possible that the current economic crisis wouldn’t be so bad if the mainstream media didn’t continually preach gloom and doom…only time will tell.

The mainstream media can’t find anything of substance to hang on Sarah Palin so now they are going to show just how out of touch she is with “Joe Six pack” by saying she spent $150,000 on clothes and accessories.

Like normal, I was eating lunch and minding my own business. I picked up the Seattle PI (wish I had a bird) and the front page story was that Sarah Palin spent $150,000 on clothes. They had two pictures of her. One wearing a pink coat and pink turtle neck and one wearing a black designer dress. I believe that they were trying to display before and after pictures. They were trying to demonstrate how she has changed what she wears since becoming the VP candidate. If you read the captions under the pictures though you would notice that in one picture she was at a state fair and the other the Republican National Convention. I think you would dress just a bit different if you we’re going to attend both events. For god’s sake, did they want her walking out in Carhartts and LL Beans.

There was also a reference to what the average U.S. Household spent in 2006. Somewhere around $1800 – $2000 (don’t quote me, left paper in the deli). I guess this again is to show just how out of line she is with the “Hockey Moms” of the country. You haven’t heard from Obama or Biden on this though…most likely because their suits, clothing, etc. exceed the U.S Household average.

Back to the point of $150,000 in clothes though. What everyone needs to understand is that it didn’t cost us, the taxpayer, anything. The RNC paid for the clothing. She has to campaign in 50 states…sometimes multiple times in a day. Did they want her to stop of at the Wash-n-Wait to do laundry between events? If anyone has the right to be pissed of its donors to the RNC. Why the democrats are twisted over this is beyond me. Beside, they’re all going to charity or auction after the campaign, figured they would be happy with that. Heck, they should be angry that Obama’s using his campaign plane, a Boeing 767 to go and visit his grandmother in Hawaii. How much do you think it cost to operate one of those? Do you think he filled it to capacity with people travelling to Hawaii…think not. And I guess that he and his entourage will be staying with grandma while in Hawaii….like hell. Who’s paying for that!

And what happens if you don’t support Obama
